There is a group of people, not a MET group, but a group of community members that have been diligently keeping an eye out for the safety of our area for the last 5+ years. During Red Flag Warnings, and Fire Weather Warnings they have volunteered to drive the loop of Painted Cave and East Camino Cielo up to the FAA towers to makes sure that everyone that was recreating up here are aware of the potential dangers and of the fire restrictions in our area. That group of people was active this evening, with some parked at the turn outs most popular for viewing the fireworks in the town as well as driving the loop - 10+ miles to ensure no shenanigans were going on.
We have had another sedate and calm Fourth of July. Thank you to all that lent a hand. May everyone have a good night's sleep.
Yes, a huge shout out to those who do this, and you know who you are. You are all MET members, but you do this on your own without MET asking and you do it with your/our community in mind, and I applaud each and everyone of you.
Thank you!
