Well here it Sunday night, the 9th of August, and I am sitting here reflecting on the great work done this weekend by volunteers of the MET weed whipping team.
We had 12 volunteers on Saturday and 9 today.
A lot of roadside was re-cleared (?) due to late rains that allowed vegetation to grow back.
Jessica and Carla worked on removing the invasive Acacia saplings that have begun to grow down by Fire Crags.
Randall took Patrol 1 down to the Living Room, and those who finished with their WW duties, had a chance to be trained up on the operations of Patrol 1.
We had a total of 46.5 Volunteer hours, thank you to all who joined.
There were old timers who have been doing this for awhile, and we had several newcomers!
My heartfelt thanks to all who helped.
There will be more opportunities for those who felt like they missed out, check your emails for upcoming events.
Thank you all again, and stay safe and healthy!
I want to also acknowledge the Awesome Work Done by the Awesome People of the MET on Painted Cave Road (amazing work) and by the Trout Club to substantially clear along our entrance road. Thanks Rocky, Jesus, Justin and Skip!
Thank you Nic and all that helped out this weekend. Proud to be part of such an amazing, caring community.
Miss working with you guys: looking forward to Oct, when EMT class ends! Praying for a calm season, here.
