I just talked with Edison. The new estimated time for the power to be restored is 9pm. Our dear friend from Frontier, who brought a generator up for yesterday's outage, was unable to get by all the trucks and equipment this morning to turn it on today. Please know, that even if the power comes back on by 9pm, it will take several hours for the batteries to charge back up for the phones to work. On the internet side of things, it should come right back on with the power.

I find myself quite intrigued with Frontier. They've been following Verizon and AT&T buying up all the copper wire systems that they are abandoning. I believe they've already filed for bankruptcy, but are carrying on.
I will let you know what am able to accomplish, or not, with Edison this week.
Yep - haven't got any good feed-back from my post on NextDoor, other than suggesting switching to Verizon from ATT...
Been there... Frontier has historically been a "rural provider".
Actually in my case, they've been prompt/courteous from my experience, much better than "LiveWire"/SCE or Verizon.
"My side" has same issues -problem being sketchy communication between SCE and comm providers. God help us when the "Big One" comes... Sigh...
Thank you, Sir! It's both disgraceful and hilarious that the only way we can have an operable phone/internet system during these outages is because one cell phone illiterate resident and one Frontier employee frantically texting and calling each other. Edison never informs Frontier of any outages, but then on the other hand, I can't imagine that Edison would, as a corporate entity, be aware of our regional phone (fiber optic vs. copper wire) issue either....
I might waste some time this week wandering the Edison call center to see if we can't get some note attached to our area(s) regarding the outages and notifying Frontier. Your side of the mountain has the same issue, doesn't it? I think there's a box on 154 that they also run generators to on occasion. I know Paradise Rd. does as well.
Thanks Jessica,
A bit late but kudos to Frontier guy with generator attempt.
There needs to be more "push/accountability" for comm providers,
whether a planned outage or emergency situations. I'll punt one off to NextDoor
Thanks Jessic!
