Ground nesting bird database?

in Fuel Management

Silly me, I thought there would be some sort of database of ground nesting birds in Southern California, specific to Chaparral. I haven't been able to find anything listing out ground nesting birds, let alone anything specific to any geographic area. I know Juncos and California Quail are ground nesting. I'm looking for ones that we need to be on the lookout for while we are weed whipping. Just found out White Crowned Sparrows are also ground nesters. Does anyone have any info? I am happy to research anything.

Hi Jessica Here is a link to the online bird experts in the US.

You probably won't find a perfect list for our purposes but you will have fun exploring and learning and I believe the info is there, just not in the form that would be most convenient.
