The overnight hours of Friday into Saturday saw some impressive wind gusts. We're not sure which one it was, but the tethers to the 5 gallon buckets of rock gave on our illustrious 'fire station' carport on Constance's lower lot. All but one snapped on the north side of the carport and the wind was strong enough to carry it, and a full bucket of rocks over the patrol truck, smashing the windshield. A huge thank you to Fraser Kersey and Nick Hart for righting the carport in the blustery wind and lashing it to a tree!
The windshield has been replaced and the buckets of rock have been replaced with twice as many buckets of concrete... and stronger rope. Both patrol trucks are ready and able to stage for the upcoming County Fire burn off Painted Cave Rd.
