It was, thankfully, a quiet weekend. We had 14 (and I suspect more) people from the community doing the loop, keeping tabs on things. Everyone we talked with were really friendly and understanding. With the overnight campers, it was good to know that there were additional eyes and ears on the ridge all night long. The Forest Service had patrols back and forth and are aware of the party site near La Cumbre Peak. There were a couple of firework violations, as well as campfires - all toward the Gibraltar side - they were cited. San Marcos Pass VFD also had a patrol on Painted Cave and E. Camino Cielo roads - so a huge thank you to them and everyone who lent a hand making sure it was a safe and enjoyable 4th for everyone!
