The upper half of the Lower Loop has power, the lower part does not, nor the three houses below that. At least three poles burned below the Lower Loop and three more across and down from the Living Room. The folk from Edison that we talked with said that they would be up here like ants, but the weather was hampering the effort. I did see a lone Edison worker pulling line or a guy wire on a pole on the south side of the Lower Loop around 4pm, so they are trying. There is no phone service for that whole area, however.
HaHa! I can't tell you how much I appreciate the MET community and all of you brave souls who stayed behind to protect the community!!! PC community is so very special to me and I think my Dad is scolding me for leaving!!!
From edhat "Incident Command is reporting good progress on the fire fight with repopulation plans to be evaluated as all evacuees should be in their homes later today in time for Thanksgiving, reports Eliason."
11/27 - 9am. There are a few small hot spots dotted around the South side of the burn area, most are far to the East. We've had just under 1/2" of rain. A firefighter with SMPVFD talked with someone manning the closure at the bottom of Old San Marcos. They thought they would be opening the road around 11am, but were waiting to hear the official word. I heard that power was going to be restored to Trout Club last night, but don't have any new info on Painted Cave's utilities. Here are a few pictures from yesterday -
This is your 4:39pm update. Winds are zero, very still. Humidity is up to 60%, which is fantastic and also signals our incoming weather. Helicopter traffic seems to be slowing down and the South side of the fire has misty white smoke appearing here and there. Nic is taking pictures of the East side of the fire from Rim Rd. I'll attach them. If you step outside you will hear chainsaws everywhere. There are handcrew trucks where ever you look.
I just heard that they are waiting for the go ahead to restore power to the Trout Club. Painted Cave Rd. had several damaged power poles and lines, so I don't think we will be as lucky.

This updated information is so very appreciated!!!
Not to my knowledge, Jacque. I know it is/was bumping up to Comport's property to the East. I think that's what the tankers have been working. The main thing now, since the winds have shifted is to keep an eye out for embers - so far, just ash.

We also have multiple hose lays ready and waiting through most of the community. Winds out of the SSE are picking up - avg 10 mph.
Multiple back to back retardant drops in the Maria Ygnacio drainage for the last several hours, and additional helicopters have arrived.

Thank you so much for these updates Jessica!!! I appreciate you so very much! Are there any fire spots near me, that you know of?
