Hello Everyone,
Now that most of the heavy lifting is nearing completion, we are preparing for another important election at our Annual Meeting being held on February 29, 2020. This note is the official Mountain Ember Team (MET) Board of Directors Call for Nominations and we would like to ask all MET MEMBERS to consider running for one (1) of the five (5) upcoming open seats on the Board. (Note, being a member of this forum does not automatically make you a member of the MET team. To become an official member of the Mountain Ember Team visit www.mountainemberteam.com/met-membership to see if you meet the membership requirements. If so, join today!)
We are anticipating 2020 to be an amazing year for the MET and our nonprofit depends on its elected directors to support our mission, services, and fundraising—in other words, we need you!!!
The Rules to Run for the Board of Directors Are Simple:
1. You must be a current, Mountain Ember Team member to run for election;
2. You may be nominated by another MET member or by yourself;
3. Current directors with expiring terms may run again.
4. Submit your nomination and a short bio to info@mountainemberteam.com by Monday, January 27, 2020
If you are a current MET member but have not renewed your MET Membership yet for 2020 please do so today to qualify to either run for election or to vote on February 29 at the annual meeting. Visit www.mountainemberteam.com/met-membership to renew online.
If you’d like to join a community-based team of friends and neighbors, run for election! Or, if you know the perfect person for the job, nominate another MET member to run. Please submit all nominations along with a short bio for each nomination no later than January 27, 2020 to info@mountainemberteam.com. Elections will be held at the Annual Meeting on Saturday, February 29, 2020 at 10am.
Sincerely, The MET Board of Directors Dennis Clegg (President), Nic Proctor (Vice President), Jenny VanSeters (Secretary), David Dellinger (Treasurer), Jessica Tunney, Ina Brittain, Linda Murphy, Al Flinck, Lane Clark
Thanks, Jenny, for your thoughtful and informative reply. I will be staying tuned.
Hi Gordon. Thank you for your continued support. The membership's geographic boundaries were set small to kick off the Mountain Ember Team. However, it is written into the bylaws that this area may be expanded via resolution approved by the Board of Directors and voted upon by the membership. So, if the support of the MET continues to grow and there is enough interest outside of Painted Cave and ECC we could very well open up the membership area to include the Trout Club one day. We have been partnering with the WRA and SMFD since the METs inception to work together to erase the past's divisions on the mountain and we couldn't be happier. One other thing to note is that you do not need to be a MET member to participate in any of the volunteer work or activities, or to attend MET meetings. You won't be able to vote at meetings but they are open to the public. The dates are always posted on the homepage calendar. Again, we thank you and feel free to reach out to us if you need anything in the Trout Club!
Hello,
Thanks for the email regarding the board of directors nominations. I checked out how to become an official MET member and saw it was reserved for only residents east of 154. As a resident of the Trout Club, I am not eligible for membership, but I will continue to enthusiastically support the MET initiatives. Hopefully someday, the east/west divide will be a thing of the past.
